How quick are your reactions?

How quickly do you think you react to things? How fast can you move or click a button?

Have a look at this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sleep/sheep/reaction_version5.swf to see if you’re a “Shuffling Snail” or a “Turbo-charged cheetah!” I scored “Bobbing Bobcat” so if you think you can beat me, we’ll have a challenge on the interactive whiteboard next week!

Maybe you could find out who is the fastest in your family. Can you beat your parents?

Good luck….

Ruby’s Easter Diary – Saturday

Can you believe it is almost the end of the Easter Holiday already? What have you been up to this week? Yesterday I went to Stover, the place where you all went for your school trip last year. I saw some tiny little ducklings that were much smaller than me, but unfortunately Miss Butcher didn’t have her camera so you can’t see them on here.

I spent today on Dartmoor; climbing tors, looking for geocaches in caves, on tors and under rocks and we walked for what felt like miles and miles. By the end of the afternoon we had found six of them which Miss Butcher said was a record. I think it’s because rabbits are good going into holes!

It was beautiful on Dartmoor, especially when the sun came out and the clouds vanished. From the top of one tor we climbed, I could see 19 others! There were small birds called larks singing as they flew above us, lots of swallows and we even saw a ‘common’ lizard run accross the path in front of us! However I didn’t like the bogs so much and was very glad to be having a ride in Miss Butcher’s rucksack.

That’s all for now….

Ruby’s Easter Diary: Thursday

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re enjoying your holiday! I’ve had a busy day today, going all over east Devon. I’ve been to Exmouth hospital, a garage to have some amazing gadget fitted, Dart’s Farm for lunch, Killerton for the afternoon and then back to Exmouth again. The best bit had to be eating fish and chips on the beach with Miss Butcher’s mum and dad….yummy!

Ruby’s Easter Diary-Monday

Hi again!

I had a lovely day today at the nature reserve at Swanwick: it was wonderfully warm and after watching the tiny ducklings on the lake, did a lovely Easter Egg hunt with Miss Butcher and her friends. It was good fun but the only sad bit was how the girls were given chocolate eggs at the end and I wasn’t!

🙁

Ruby’s Easter Diary: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Hello again! Happy Easter!!!

Did you miss my diary entries? I’ve been in France with Miss Butcher and got back very early this morning!

We went on a huge ferry, slept overnight in a cabin and then spent yesterday travelling around. We went to a huge city called Caen, went looking for treasure (a special type of hide-and-seek called caching!) in a castle, ate breakfast in a cafe and wandered round the shops which I suppose could be a bit boring if you’re a rabbit and don’t like chocolate or clothes! However we also went to see the tomb of William the Conqueror and walked through the gardens outside the abbey.

The tulips were lovely, so I had a quick snack before we drove through Northern France to Cherbourg. We had lunch in Bayeux near the Bayeux Tapesty, and as there wasn’t time to see the tapestry (we’ll do that next time!) went on a little train around the town to save Miss Butcher walking too far. After that we drove along the D-Day beaches and I saw lots of old tanks, guns and even bits of a floating harbour. It was a bit sad though as we saw thousands of graves from the Second World War. I didn’t know much about it so Miss Butcher explained about how thousands of soldiers had to invade France and that we were driving along some of the roads they had been along. If you want to know more, like I did, maybe you could ask your mums and dads, or Miss Butcher when we get back to school.

After another stop at a supermarket-where Miss Butcher’s car suddenly got filled up with French cakes, cheese and wine-we drove up to Cherbourg and caught the fast-ferry back to Portsmouth.

On the way back I looked at the view for a bit and then I listened to Miss Butcher’s Ipod as she seemed to be a bit too tired….

Ruby’s Easter Diary:Wednesday and Thursday

Hi everyone!

Sorry for not writing before but Miss Butcher hasn’t let me near her computer to update you on what’s been happening! I’m now staying with Miss Butcher’s mum and dad in Southampton, but have had a fairly quiet couple of days because of the weather. Rabbits don’t really like the rain, and there has been rather a lot of it around! However I did manage to get down on Exmouth Beach to see all the kites being flown. I almost got blown away too though, so Miss Butcher had to hold on tight to my paw!

Some people seemed to think it was quite funny to see a grown up taking a photo of a rabbit on the beach, so Miss Butcher had to explain that we work in a primary school and that “sometimes we have to do mad things!” The more I think about that the more upset I feel though… I didn’t think it was mad at all!

Ruby’s Diary Tuesday

****Tuesday****

Hi everyone!

I hope you are having a good time out of school! I had a lovely walk along the the old Exmouth-Budleigh railway line today. There were hundreds of primroses, making the banks look beautiful. However Miss Butcher wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to eat them, or find any of my friends, even though I could see their holes… maybe we’ll go back tomorrrow!

Ruby’s Easter Diary: Monday

****Monday****

Hello again!

Today was much better, even if it rained! I went out with Miss Butcher’s friends again to Killerton and went for the most beautiful walk up the hills and under the rhododendrons! It’s only a week or so since I went there with Gemma, but it was amazing to see how many more flowers there are now! They even have an Easter Egg hunt if you want to do it!
