Space facts!

Otter BR has been finding loads of facts about space from information books. Here are some of the most amazing ones…

 

The Sun:

It is the closest star to the Earth!

It is 148 million kilometres away.

 

Mercury:

Mercury is slightly bigger than our moon.

On Mercury it takes 88 Earth days to go round the sun, so there are 88 days in one of it’s years.

Venus:

 

Earth:

People think the Earth will come to an end by hitting the sun.

The Earth takes 24 hours to turn round on it’s axis.

 

Mars:

 

Jupiter:

Jupiter is made of hydrogen and helium gases.

If all the other planets combined into one, it would take up less than half of Jupiter!

Neptune:

Neptune is a blue planet.

Neptune is the most stormy planet in the solar system.
